Basic Factory Workers Unions Meeting

On 16th Feb, FTUB, Basic Workers Unions, labour activists and Lawyers were having a meeting at Myanmar Peace Center. MPC helped as a facilitator for the meeting. Some farmers union also joined the meeting. They all are from Yangon, Mandalay, Pegu, Sagaing, Ayeyarwaddy Division. Over One hundred and fifty persons from over 40 factory workers unions including University Teacher Unions were participated in the meeting. They discussed on weakness of Labour Organization Law/ Rules and Settlement of Labour Dispute law. They also Suggested to amend the laws and discussed the difficulties of labour registration process, settlement of dispute between employers and employees and work place situations. Participated Unions : Garment factory Workers Unions, Comic Workers Unions, University Teacher Unions, Construction Workers Unions, Train Workers Unions, Food and Beverage Workers Unions, Lace Factory Workers Union, Wig Factory Workers Union, Shoe Factory Workers Union, Plastic Factory Workers Unions, Paper and Cartoon Box Manufacturing Factory Workers Unions, Natural Clay Manufacturing Factory Workers Unions.
