Migrant Meeting in Philippines.
Civil society organizations, trade unions, women’s group and other social movements from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Myanmar took part in the MFA – Migrant Forum in Asia – ASEAN Civil Society Consultation on the ASEAN Framework Instrument for Migrant Workers and the Global Compact For Migrants in Pasig City, Philippines on May 26-27, 2017. Participants from Myanmar included representatives from the Confederation of Trade Unions of Myanmar (CTUM), Migrant Worker Rights Network -MWRN and Public Legal Aid Network – The Plan.

Participants took part in intensive consultations with the Philippine Government, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and began mechanizing for the 31st ASEAN Summit to be hosted by the Philippines in November 2017.
